Wedding Music Piece of the Week

With one of the most romantic days just around the corner how about choosing a suitably romantic piece for a Wedding on Valentine’s day or in the month of February .  The  wonderful English Composer, Edward Elgar wrote the beautifully lyrical piece of music entitled ‘Love’s Greeting’ ( later changed to ‘Salut d’amour’) for his fiancee Caroline Alice as an engagement gift. He originally wrote it for violin and piano but it has been arranged for string quartet with great success and there are many different versions for other instruments too. What a romantic gesture! She in return gave him a poem she had written which he later set to music.
