Lochrian Ceilidh Band

Members of the Lochrian Ensemble also play for the Lochrian Ceilidh Band. We are a professional acoustic band of two fiddles, whistle, bass guitar and bodhran.

We provide live music with a Celtic twist for weddings, Burns Night suppers, parties, and fundraising events. We work with a number of callers for organised dancing (ceilidh, barn dancing) or we can just play background music to create an atmosphere for your event.

So what is a ceilidh/barn dance?

A ceilidh/barn dance is a social gathering that involves live music and traditional dancing from Scotland, Ireland and England.

Ceilidhs and barn dances are very sociable affairs offering the opportunity for everyone, young or old, to get involved in your event. No experience is necessary as a professional caller will talk you through all the dance steps and tailor the event to the specific needs of your guests.

We come complete with public liability insurance and a PA system.

As a band we are keen to promote traditional music and dancing amongst the younger generation and organise public family ceilidhs several times a year.
